Casa Cubana’s Transition Class begins 11 January 2026 and is designed to bridge the gap between beginner and intermediate salsa. You’ll build smoother footwork, stronger partner connection, better musicality, and the confidence to shine on the dance floor.

Perfect for anyone who’s completed beginner salsa or has some experience and wants more.

Hamish Fernando (Sydney) & Alissa Cleo (Agua! Cuban Dance Perth) will lead an afternoon workshop series that will focus on body movement, musicality, son, rumba guaguaco, and how to mix these all together to your dance.

But! Before the workshops on the Saturday (29th Nov), we will have a party on the Friday night (28th Nov) at St. Georges Anglican Church. Come dressed to impress as either the Angel or Devil on your shoulder.

And, on the Sunday afternoon (30th Nov), we will be joining with the Vivo Latin Festival in Kingston! This will be a free event, with social dancing, performances and food trucks. Get your tickets here

We are running ****a 6 week salsa transition block**** aimed at giving you the confidence to dance in the intermediate class and improve your dancing skills. These classes are also for you if you are already attending Intermediate class and would like to polish what you have learnt. The classes emphasise partner dancing and rueda.

When?

10am – midday, every Sunday for 6 weeks.

Hamish Fernando (Sydney) & Alissa Cleo (Agua! Cuban Dance Perth) will lead an afternoon workshop series that will focus on body movement, musicality, and the ability to add pauses and playfulness to your dance.

While most classes focus on specific figures, we want to empower students to feel the music and dance in between the complex figures. When we can enjoy and be creative with our movement in each moment, every dance can become a great experience even when you are just doing the basic steps. Let’s play and connect!
