Thursday night salsa resumes at the Italian Club on January 13th 2022.
We’ve had a lovely break, but we’re looking forward to getting back on the dance floor!
Please make sure to review our current COVID safety requirements before attending any Casa Cubana events.
Salsa cancelled 21 October 2021
Due to the Hobart Show Day public holiday the Italian Club will be closed on Thursday 21 October 2021, so unfortunately there will be no salsa on that day.
Casa Cubana is pleased to announce that Thursday night salsa is resuming on January 7th.
What’s staying the same:
– Same venue – the Italian Club, North Hobart. Meals and drinks available.
– Same classes and social dancing structure.
– Social dancing still free.
– Same great times to be had!
What’s different:
– Contactless payment available (and preferred)
– Small price increase to $12 per class, $18 for both.
– QR code check in required for contact tracing purposes
– Hand sanitiser galore!
We still need to be COVID safe, so if you have any cold or flu-like symptoms please stay away and follow government guidelines for testing.
We look forward to catching up with everyone in 2021!
See here for further details on classes.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: CLASSES AND EVENTS SUSPENDED
It is with much regret that Casa Cubana is suspending its weekly Thursday night salsa classes and social dancing at the Italian Club, from and including this Thursday the 19th. Salsa at Salamanca every Saturday outside Machine Café is also suspended, as are the Launceston road trip and transition block course, until further notice.
With the current COVID-19 virus around the world and now in Tasmania, our feeling is that we all need to act to reduce the spread of this infection. For a virus that is spread by respiratory droplets, contact from surfaces and clothing, and from close proximity with other people, salsa dancing would pose a high risk of transmission if and when it comes into our midst. National guidelines recommend keeping your distance and not meeting in large groups. Suspending classes is one extra step we can take to help keep our community safe.
Although we will miss dancing with you all, our hope is that we can stay safe and resume dancing once this whole thing blows over. Keep an eye out on our facebook page for when things resume…..hopefully in the not too distant future!
