To create a gallery, you will need to do it in two steps:
- create a gallery and upload your photos
- insert that gallery into your post.
In your post, go to the main content window.
Click on this button and you will be presented with a window, with a few tabs at the top.
To up create the gallery and upload photos. In the NextGEN gallery window select the “add Gallery / images” tab at the top.
- Upload files from your computer and name a new gallery or select an existing gallery to choose from.
- Please use a gallery name that is meaningful to your post, so it can be found later when you need to select it from the long list of galleries eg. “Rueda workshops Feb 15”
To insert the Gallery into your post, choose the “Display Gallery” tab at the top left of the NextGEN gallery window.
- Under the line “Select a display type” choose the one of the nicer gallery options e.g..”NextGEN Pro Slideshow” or “NextGEN Pro Masonry”.
- Then scroll down and customise the options: What would you like to display?, Customize the display settings, Sort or Exclude Images. This gives you a lot of control over size, order and transitions of the gallery. I recommend keeping the transitions to 1 sec, the slideshow to 3 seconds and crossfade option.
ADVANCED FEATURE. When we want to display multiple galleries on a page, there is a “album” feature. This displays individual galleries in a group of thumbnails arranged in a grid of sorts, each one representing a different gallery. When clicked, that gallery enlarges to fill the page and plays.
